As part of the Young Women Building Their Future Grant Program, “Empowered Women of Seafood Industry” project was launched on November 28, 2023, at the İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly Hall. The project aims to train and employ 40 NEET women in aquaculture enterprises and fish net manufacturing workshops through vocational training programs.
Implemented in partnership with the İzmir Commodity Exchange Education, Culture, and Social Integration Foundation (BORSAV) and the Mediterranean Conservation Society, the project’s kickoff meeting was attended by: Members of the İzmir Commodity Exchange Assembly, Aquaculture and fish net manufacturers, Ömer Yahşi İzmir Provincial Director of National Education, Mustafa Şahin İzmir Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Ayla Bozkurt Deputy Director of the İzmir Provincial Employment and Labor Agency (İŞKUR). During the meeting, project activities were introduced, and companies in the sector were invited to collaborate for employment opportunities.
