What does NEET mean?

NEET (Not in Employment, Education, or Training) refers to young individuals who are not working, not part of the labor force, and not continuing their education (formal education, vocational training, apprenticeships, or courses). How was the name “Young Women Building Their Future” chosen for the project?

During the project preparation phase, a name research study was conducted with IPSOS targeting NEET young women. The research aimed to identify a name that young women would feel proud and excited to be part of. 500 NEET young women across Türkiye participated in the study. Preliminary research was conducted to gather potential name alternatives. We extend our gratitude to Selin Dağıstanlı, who inspired us with the name “Young Women Building Their Future”. The research revealed that “Young Women Building Their Future” was among the most positively received names, as it symbolized courage, action, and self-confidence for NEET women. As a result, project partners approved it as the official project name.
